Second Cinema: October 2009 - Cinema Overdrive, Andre Gower, and Silent Forest
This month we had the pleasure of travelling outside the studio, out of Durham in fact, and headed over to sister cities, Raleigh and Creedmoor, North Carolina. Our first stop brought us to The Colony Theater in Raleigh were we talked Cinema Overdrive, a brand new film series, and had a chance to sit down with actor Andre Gower. We then head north to Creedmoor NC, to speak with Mark Tangherlini about his new haunt, “Silent Forest”. It’s a fantastic episode of Second Cinema and you can screen the entire episode, from start to finish right here, right now.
Below is a description of the show:
First off we sat down with Denver Hill, General Manager of The Colony and @raleighmovies for all you twitter heads out there, and film lover, film collector, all around nice guy, and friend of the show, Matt Pennachi, to talk about their new film series, CINEMA OVERDRIVE.
This event, which takes place each month at The Colony is, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but the films that they screen are “once in a lifetime opportunities”. How many chances are you going to get to see “Shogun Assassin” in 35mm on the big screen, or “Monster Squad”, or “Pieces”, or “Death Race 2000 (the original folks)…these are classic cult films that are must sees and we have them coming to the The Colony each month! The film series started a few months ago, so you may have missed a few but October brings three amazing films to Raleigh.
Pieces on October 14th
Evil Dead on October 21st
Monster Squad on October 28th
Please check our The Colony and Cinema Overdrive and follow them on the various places below.

ANDRE GOWER INTERVIEW

Next up we had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with famed actor, and “Monster Squad” star, Andre Gower. He was gracious enough to stop by The Colony to talk about the film and it’s upcoming appearance in the Cinema Overdrive series, in which he will also be in attendance that evening, not only to MC the event, but to also take questions, sign autographs, and chat film. This is a great opportunity to see a gem of a film and talk with the star about his work and this film. We would once again like to thank Andre for his time and appreciate him stopping by Second Cinema.
SILENT FOREST INTERVIEW

We wrap the show this month with a Haunt! It’s October guys and gals and you know how we love Halloween, so we had a chance to talk with Mark Tangherlini, founder and mastermind behind the amazing haunted walk, “Silent Forest”. From the ground up on 95 acres of land, Mark and his team of Hollywood professionals built a haunt like nothing else you’ve seen. We won’t give to much away, but enjoy the interview and make sure to check out his website for more information on times, location, directions, and ticket prices.
