A WALKTHRU WITH KATHLEEN CONNALLY
A film that I have been admiring from afar and find my self continuing to revisit is a short documentary by friend and Durham based Filmmaker Ajit Anthony Prem. The film, entitled A WALKTHRU WITH KATHLEEN CONNALLY, premired last year at the Carrboro Film Festival.
The look and feel of this film was the immediate draw for me, the colors and textures and warmth, of not only Connally’s work, but of the film itself. Prem is really able to capture not only his subject matter, but is able to create an almost palpable aesthetic to his film that immediately pulls the viewer in. It’s a fantastic 11+ minute journey, that I invite you to enjoy.

I spent a morning with photographer Kathleen Connally several years back. We talked, we walked. I came back hoping to put something together immediately but life got a little crazy and I had to put it aside. Till now.
Many of things we discussed that misty morning still come back to me from time to time. I think Kathleen has one of the healthiest perspectives on her art & her work. She loves what she does, she has a purpose and she is comfortable with her talent.
