SOLATRIUM premieres at SLAMDANCE 2010 and gets profiled at Wired.com

That’s pretty fantastic for Asheville filmmaker Chris Bower! And to think Mac Styrofoam was the inspiration for this amazingly stylistic sci-fi film. We can’t wait to see the whole thing!

In this Slamdance 2010 short film, North Carolina DIY filmmaker Chris Bower tells the story of a beautiful clone in outerspace who becomes fond of mind-melting drug called Solatrium.

Solatrium is a short film from the creators of Moon Europa. Written and directed by Chris Bower, and produced by G. Craig Hobbs, the film pushes the boundaries of guerrilla D.I.Y. filmmaking by combining lush cinematography, a gorgeous and glitchy soundtrack, and sets and wardrobe made entirely from found and recycled materials.

Synopsis
Bria Living, a female astronaut, attempts to cure her regret and ennui by abusing her medication. Little does she know she is the test subject for Nevco Corporation who is developing the experimental drug Solatrium.
